Workout description

The threshold test is designed to help calculate a riders FTP. Ridden as a single 20 minute interval at maximum effort, the idea is to calculate your average power over the duration of the test and then apply a calculation to derive your current FTP. FTP (Functional Threshold Power) is a very important figure when starting any training plan. Every session is designed with a riders FTP in mind.

Simply perform this test to the best of your ability and we will automatically update your profile with your FTP figure.

The Threshold Test is a very demanding workout that should only be attempted when fresh from other training. Whilst it is a maximal effort for the duration, it is important that you pace things well. Ideally try and lift the pace in the final few minutes.
