Workout description

Threshold YoYo's are a great alternative to a traditional threshold interval. Delivering an overall average power similar to a consistent threshold interval of the same duration, yoyo's see the rider switch between sweet spot (just below FTP) and just above threshold (just above FTP).

These are great to get used to riding over varied terrain (a rolling road for example). These can also be mentally easier to complete than a sustained threshold effort due to the frequent changes in power requirements.

Ridden as 20 intervals made up of 1 min over FTP and 1 min under FTP (so 40 minutes work in total). The key to this workout is to hit your power level immediately after you finish a 1 minute block over threshold. As time progresses, it will likely become harder to match your power requirements. Use the power target to ensure you don't over/under pace things.
